Pizza was invented in the 1700’s in a city in Italy called Naples. The first “Margherita” pizza, the original, plain pie, was made for Queen Margherita, and retains her name.
We follow the Italian tradition of great pizza making. All of our pizza is hand tossed and baked in an authentic Woodstone “open flame” firedeck oven at 600 degrees. Our dough is made from “00” flour, imported from Italy. Our Margherita (Gio’s Plain) is topped with San Marzano D.O.P. tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, Pecorino Romano cheese, extra virgin olive oil, sea salt and fresh basil. We do not add sugar to our sauce or dough.
“I have to say that this is, hands down, the BEST brick oven pizza in the Lehigh Valley.. there… I said it… take that!
Well, it’s true. I have the pleasure of working near this fabulous Italian restaurant, however I only get to eat here once in a great while because it is a restaurant and I don’t always have an hour for lunch.
That being said, every time I’ve eaten here, it’s been fantastic… from their plain pizza to the Giovanna to their Caesar salad it’s yummy!”
We make pizza authentically, the way it was meant to be. Try it for yourself so you will know what pizza was intended to be. Great as an appetizer or an entree.
